Oswego Health Promotes Two Within Patient Access

Oswego Health makes it a priority to recognize staff for their hard work and commitment to the organization and the community. Two key staff members who continue to shine are Julie Struallo and Desiree Mullen. Struallo has been promoted to Director of Patient Access and Mullen has been promoted to Manager of Patient Access.

Oswego Health’s Patient Access team consists of 74 employees who play a critical role in ensuring patients receive timely and appropriate medical care. This team manages patient flow, and is responsible for admissions, registration, scheduling, authorization, insurance verification, and coordination of care with their clinical providers.

To lead this team, Julie Struallo has been promoted to Director of Patient Access. Struallo first joined Oswego Health in 2001 as a Switchboard Operator. Throughout the past 23 years, she’s held various roles within the division including Patient Access Representative, Training Assistant, Manager, and Supervisor. In this new position, Struallo will be responsible for the strategic and operational aspects of the department. She will be instrumental in leading her team to ensure high-quality customer service and adherence to best practices.

Responsible for assisting the Director of Patient Access in coordinating and managing the Patient Access department is Desiree Mullen who has been promoted to Manager. Mullen joined Oswego Health in 2019 as a Patient Access Representative. Throughout the past 5 years, she’s held various roles within the division including Patient Access Representative II, and Supervisor.
