Oswego Health Medical Practice, a leading multi-specialty healthcare provider in Central New York, is excited to announce the addition of William Stilwell, FNP, MSN, RN, to the Center for Cardiology team. With his wealth of experience and commitment to local care, Stilwell will play a key role in enhancing the cardiology services offered to the community.
Stilwell is a highly accomplished healthcare professional. He holds a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization as a Family Nurse Practitioner from SUNY Upstate Medical University, which he completed in 2012. He also earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2010. With 28 years of extensive experience in healthcare, Stilwell brings a wealth of expertise to Oswego Health's cardiology team.
His career began as a Registered Nurse at A.L. Lee Memorial, where he worked in the Medical-Surgical Unit and the Emergency Department until the hospital closed in 2009. While pursuing his clinical education, Stilwell gained invaluable experience at Crouse Hospital, providing rapid, life-saving care to critically ill patients in the Emergency Department.
Stilwell’s career extends beyond emergency care. He has served as a Family Nurse Practitioner in a private internal medicine practice, where he delivered comprehensive primary care, diagnoses, and treatment plans for a wide range of conditions. His experience in urgent care settings, including roles at Oswego Health and WellNow, further honed his clinical decision-making abilities, allowing him to adeptly manage routine and complex health conditions. This diverse and robust clinical background makes Stilwell an invaluable asset to Oswego Health’s cardiology team, with the specialized skills necessary to manage patients with complex cardiovascular needs and contribute to delivering exceptional cardiac care.
Starting January 13th, Stilwell will work alongside a highly skilled team of cardiology professionals, including Dr. Thomas Grady Jr., MD, FACC, Dr. David Bass, DO, FACC, Michael Carey, PA-C, David Downey, PA, Carrie Marlow, MS, PA-C, and Erika Ruggieri, PA-C. This collaborative team offers a full spectrum of cardiology services, ranging from routine heart health evaluations to advanced interventions for heart disease, ensuring that each patient receives personalized, cutting-edge care.
At the Center for Cardiology, Stilwell will focus on diagnosing, treating, and preventing cardiovascular disease in adult patients. With an emphasis on heart disease prevention, heart failure management, arrhythmias, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol, the center is dedicated to improving heart health and quality of life for the residents of Central New York.
