For the fifth year in a row, Oswego Health proudly celebrated World Kindness Day, spreading unexpected smiles and meaningful acts of compassion across its campuses and throughout Central New York.

This year, Oswego Health put out a challenge to employees to complete a random act of kindness—and the response was inspiring. In a matter of days, over 600 employees stepped up, participating in acts that ranged from buying coffee for a stranger and donating to local animal shelters to volunteering, collecting food for area food pantries, and more. These efforts reached communities throughout Central New York, demonstrating how small acts can create a ripple effect of positivity.

World Kindness Day is more than a single day on the calendar—it is a movement that reflects the heart of Oswego Health’s We Care culture. From simple gestures to thoughtful acts, employees showed how meaningful kindness could be, not only to patients and colleagues, but also to everyone in the broader community.

As part of the celebration, the team spent time at SUNY Oswego, sharing kindness directly with students and campus visitors. The day’s activities, energy, and impact are captured in a short recap video, which can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rD1RrP-0Vhg

“Kindness is at the core of everything we do,” said SVP of Communications, Jamie Leszczynski. “World Kindness Day gives us an opportunity to extend our culture of care beyond our campuses and into the community we serve. It’s a reminder that at Oswego Health, We Care isn’t just a mantra—it’s who we are.”
