What is Pelvic Health Physical Therapy?

Pelvic health physical therapy is a specialized form of therapy focused on the muscles, ligaments, and connective tissues in the pelvic region. It’s particularly effective in treating:

  • Stress incontinence: Leakage caused by pressure on the bladder (e.g., from coughing, sneezing, or exercise)
  • Urge incontinence: A sudden and overwhelming need to urinate
  • Mixed incontinence: A combination of stress and urge incontinence

Our dedicated pelvic health therapist, Liane Brown, PT, DPT, MS, works closely with each patient to develop a personalized care plan that may include strengthening exercises, manual therapy, behavioral strategies, and lifestyle modifications to improve pelvic floor function and overall quality of life.

Accessible, Inclusive, and Expert Care

By expanding our pelvic health services, Oswego Health is breaking down barriers to care and supporting the health and wellness of our entire community. We are committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based treatment that respects every individual's needs and experiences.

Whether you’re recovering from surgery, managing chronic discomfort, your urologist referred you or dealing with a new pelvic health concern, we’re here to help you find relief, restore function, and feel like yourself again.
