Chief Medical Officer & President of Oswego Health Medical Practice

Dr. Wajeeh Sana, MD is an accomplished emergency physician with over seventeen years of experience. Since joining the Medical Staff at Oswego Hospital in 2013, he has made significant contributions to the healthcare community, culminating in his appointment as President of the Medical Staff in 2023. Throughout his career in Central New York, Dr. Sana has held various leadership roles, including Service Medical Director for McFee Ambulance and Clinical Assistant Professor at SUNY Upstate Medical Center. In 2015, he became the Medical Director and Chairman of the Emergency Department at Oswego Hospital, as well as overseeing the Fulton and Central Square Urgent Care Centers.
Dr. Sana earned his medical degree in 1996 from Allama Iqbal Medical College in Pakistan and completed his Family Medicine Residency in 2007 at St. Vincent’s Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. As Chief Medical Officer, he provides strategic leadership and direction for a wide range of medical activities across the nonprofit healthcare system, acting as a liaison between management and the medical staff to support the organization’s mission.
Additionally, Dr. Sana serves as President of Oswego Health Medical Practice, a multi-specialty group that offers the community accessible, high-quality healthcare. With over 100 physicians and advanced practice providers, the practice provides a comprehensive array of services across Central New York, including primary care and specialties such as orthopedics, cardiology, ENT, gastroenterology, breast care, general surgery, urology, and bariatrics.
