The Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine at Oswego Health is proud to announce the appointment of Abigail Andrew, MSN, RN, as Clinical Nurse Manager. With her extensive experience in clinical nursing and healthcare management, Andrew will lead the nursing team at the Center, working closely with wound care providers, nurses, and Hyperbaric Technicians to deliver high-quality, personalized care to individuals with complex, hard-to-heal wounds.

Abigail Andrew, a resident of Liverpool, NY, brings a wealth of experience from her diverse career in clinical nursing and healthcare education. Most recently, she served as Senior Academic Instructor at St. Joseph’s College of Nursing, where she played a pivotal role in shaping the nursing education curriculum. In this capacity, she successfully implemented an education plan that streamlined the testing and educational processes for visiting students at Upstate University Hospital and its affiliated facilities. This initiative standardized educational outcomes across the system and resulted in significant cost savings and reduced time spent on platform management.
Additionally, Andrew's leadership extended to her role as Faculty Chair Professor at Bryant & Stratton College (2022-2023), where she chaired the Pediatric Nursing Department and the Feedback & Evaluation Committee. Her efforts in developing and evaluating curriculum initiatives helped improve the learning experience for nursing students while fostering a strong foundation for evidence-based, patient-centered care.
Andrew’s clinical expertise extends beyond education. She also served as Senior Project Manager for Finish Line Abbott World Marathon Majors | Finish Line Medical, educating healthcare providers on the benefits of point-of-care testing and its impact on patient outcomes and hospital efficiency.
Her clinical nursing experience spans a variety of settings, including her work as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital in the NICU and Upstate Hospital in Pediatric and Adolescent care. She has also worked as a travel nurse during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing critical care in diverse and challenging environments.
Andrew is highly trained. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Capella University, an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Utica University, and a Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the College of St. Rose. She is also a certified EMT.
Chronic wounds affect more than 8 million people in the U.S., and with an aging population and increasing rates of conditions such as diabetes, obesity, and the long-term effects of radiation therapy, the need for specialized wound care continues to grow.
