Oswego Health Welcomes Hospitalist and Nocturnist Christopher Massari, MD to Medical Staff

Oswego Health is proud to welcome Dr. Christopher Massari to the Oswego Health Medical Staff, where he will serve as a Hospitalist and Nocturnist at Oswego Hospital. With more than two decades of clinical experience in internal medicine and hospitalist care, Dr. Massari brings an exceptional depth of knowledge and a strong commitment to patient-centered care that will benefit our entire community.
Originally from the East Coast and most recently practicing in Oregon, Dr. Massari’s professional background spans clinical leadership and bedside care. He has held hospitalist positions with large multi-specialty groups including Saint Charles Medical Center and Bend Memorial Clinic in Oregon, where he provided 100% inpatient care to diverse patient populations. He also served in administrative and teaching roles with PeaceHealth Medical Group and Oregon Health & Science University, where he helped guide clinical quality initiatives, developed IT solutions to support hospital operations, and mentored medical students. Most recently, he served as a Medical Director at UnitedHealth Group, reviewing thousands of inpatient clinical cases for medical necessity and appropriateness of care annually.
Dr. Massari earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Vermont College of Medicine, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from Tulane University. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of South Florida, along with an internship at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine by both the ABIM and NBPAS, and maintains active licensure and certifications including ACLS and DEA registration.
His arrival reinforces Oswego Health’s commitment to providing around-the-clock care by dedicated, hospital-based physicians. Hospitalists play a critical role in coordinating a patient’s care from admission to discharge, and the addition of a skilled nocturnist like Dr. Massari ensures that patients receive consistent, expert care—even in the overnight hours. This enhances communication with care teams, improves patient outcomes, and provides families with reassurance that their loved ones are in capable hands at all times.
