Oswego Health continues to demonstrate its commitment to growing and supporting the region’s healthcare workforce by investing in its employees through paid training and career advancement opportunities. This month, six team members at The Manor at Seneca Hill completed a comprehensive Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program. This initiative reflects Oswego Health’s progressive approach to nurturing talent from within.
The five-week paid program, which includes 240 hours of clinical, classroom, and lab instruction, allows individuals to start their healthcare careers with no upfront cost. While enrolled, participants are employed full-time as Resident Care Aides, and upon graduation, they become eligible for full-time CNA roles and a $3,500 sign-on bonus. For experienced CNAs, a $5,000 sign-on bonus is available.
Recent graduates of the program include Kyle McEwen, Elera Berrus, Katrina Buys, Brooke-Login Scutt, Carlee Mungerand, and Quitizia Washington—each of whom took their first step toward a rewarding career in healthcare through this initiative.
Andrea Doviak, RN, Executive Director at The Manor, congratulated the graduates and shared her personal connection to the program. "I, too, started my career as a CNA, and I know firsthand how meaningful this role is," said Doviak. "This is an opportunity every day to make a difference, and I have no doubt these graduates will. We’re incredibly proud of their commitment and are honored to support their journey.”
Beyond CNA training, Oswego Health offers a robust suite of career development programs designed to help employees advance into roles such as Phlebotomists, Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses, and Certified Medical Assistants. Tuition assistance is available for both full-time and part-time employees, further reinforcing Oswego Health’s dedication to personal and professional growth.
As a leading healthcare employer in the region, Oswego Health continues to invest in programs that support its staff and ensure high-quality care for the community.
The Manor is currently recruiting for its next CNA training session. To learn more or register, call 315-349-5300 or visit www.oswegohealth.org/cna.
