Mayor of Fulton Encourages Community to Take Advantage of FREE Hernia Screening Clinic
Contact: Jamie Leszczynski
Oswego Health is dedicated to promoting preventative healthcare, and we’re excited to invite our community to a FREE Hernia Screening Clinic at the Center for Surgical Services on Tuesday, October 22nd, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The health and wellness of the community is the priority of Fulton Mayor James Rice. “I wish to encourage City residents to schedule a screening exam during this free clinic offered by our partners at Oswego Health. Upon completion of the exam, diagnosis and treatment plan recommendations will be offered with consultation with an Oswego Health physician."
Hernias can often go unnoticed, as many individuals experience no symptoms. However, they affect approximately 1.6 million people in the U.S. annually, with 500,000 undergoing surgery to repair them. Statistics show that 27% of men and 3% of women will develop a groin hernia at some point in their lives.
Early detection is critical to effective treatment and overall health. During the October 22nd clinic, participants will have the opportunity to meet with Dr. Osama E. A. Essa, a skilled surgeon who focuses on minimally invasive procedures, bowel surgery, hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, appendix surgery, and thyroid gland surgery. To register for the screening clinic or more information, please visit www.oswegohealth.org/screening or call 315-342-6771.
