Since joining Oswego Health in 2023, he has been instrumental in developing and expanding our urology service line.
Why Urology?
“I always knew I wanted to be a surgeon,” says Dr. Kord. “Urology is amazing because it combines surgery with medical therapy and gives you the opportunity to go deep—literally and clinically—into the body. It offers a wide variety of procedures and patient care.”
He was especially drawn to urologic oncology.
“People facing a cancer diagnosis deserve time, compassion, and a provider who will be there for them. That’s what I strive to do.”
Why Oswego Health?
Despite splitting his time between Oswego Health, Upstate, and River Hospital, Dr. Kord says our system holds a special place in his heart.
“I love the team here—supportive, collaborative, and always focused on doing the right thing. But it’s also the people of this community. There’s a closeness here, a real connection, and because of that, the patients truly trust us. That trust makes it easier to provide great care, and it makes the work incredibly meaningful.”
When asked which of the three systems is his favorite, he smiled and said, “Yes, this one is special.” Enough said—you read it here first!
Outside the OR and Clinic
For Dr. Kord, family is everything. He and his wife are the proud parents of three energetic children (ages 8, 6, and 4). Life at home is filled with sports, laughter, and spontaneous outdoor adventures.
“We love hopping in the car and heading out for a hike or a new park,” he says. “There’s so much beauty in Central New York—it’s our favorite way to unwind together.”
Why This Matters
At Oswego Health, our providers are more than their titles. They’re real people—parents, adventurers, mentors, and lifelong learners—who care deeply about the work they do and the people they serve.
Dr. Eyal Kord is one of those people. His compassion, dedication, and love for both his family and this community are just a few of the reasons we’re proud to have him on our team.
