Building Futures: Oswego Health Invests in CT Cross-Training for X-ray Technologists
Investing in our employees. Meeting industry demands. Shaping futures.
Oswego Health continues to build a stronger workforce by supporting current X-ray Technologists in cross-training into CT (Computed Tomography). While cross-training isn’t new—we’ve successfully helped many technologists transition into CT over the years—our approach continues to evolve to meet employee and industry needs.
We currently support this training pathway by:
- Covering the cost of approved educational materials and certification testing
- Providing real-world, hands-on training through our experienced CT technologists
- Offering mentorship to ensure employees feel confident every step of the way
This collaborative learning model not only builds internal expertise but also gives technologists the chance to grow their careers—right here at Oswego Health.
Spotlight: Alaina Galutz – A Future CT Technologist in the Making
Born and raised right here in Oswego, Alaina Galutz exemplifies how Oswego Health’s investment in its people makes a difference. After graduating from Upstate University in May 2024 as an X-ray Technologist—with help from our Tuition Assistance Program—Alaina quickly set her sights on CT.
After just six months in X-ray, she began her cross-training journey in CT, learning directly from experienced techs like Lexi McNitt and Ward Ellison. With Oswego Health covering the cost of her educational materials and enrollment in the MIC CT Training Program, Alaina is now completing modules that include CE credits and assessments—steps that will prepare her to sit for her CT boards.
“This program is great—and worth it,” says Alaina. “It’s allowing me to do what I love, right here at home.”
Originally planning to pursue MRI, Alaina found that CT was a better fit. She loves the hands-on nature of the work and the ability to make an immediate impact on patients. Her journey is a reminder of what makes Oswego Health so unique:
- We care deeply about our team
- We’re invested in your growth
- And we’re creating real pathways to success
