The Oswego Health Foundation Endowment Fund was established in 2021 thanks to a few determined donors who wanted to leave a lasting impact on our community.
Your gift to the Endowment Fund sends a message that you care about long-term stability, fiscal responsibility and financial viability. This endowment is designed to keep the principal amount intact while using the investment income for charitable efforts. In the future, the endowment will serve as an invested pool of money that provides a reliable source of income in perpetuity, and Oswego Health will be able to count on annual distributions for its charitable work. Funds may be designated for endowment by the donor or by the board of directors.
We understand that donors to the Endowment Fund are motivated to give because they (a) already care about the organization and / or its mission, (b) want to make sure the charity or one of its programs is sustainable, and (c) have the ability to give. Unlike a general donation, an endowment is established for a nonprofit organization to use the income for a specific purpose. Endowments are able to grow donations as investments and provide additional income for the nonprofit’s cause.
