Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What type of insurance is accepted?
Please call our office at 315.349.5558 to find the most up-to-date insurance information. We will accept all local insurance plans. If we are not already an approved provider, we will apply to become a provider.
Q. I am on Medicare. What is the maximum that I am allowed to use?
Medicare will cover services as long as there is a need, under a cap of $3,700 per year. Please call with any insurance questions and we will be happy to assist you.
Q. How long do patients usually need treatment?
Every patient's needs are different, and a specialized treatment plan is designed for each individual. After your initial evaluation and at your 1st appointment, we can let you know what to expect. Treatments typically take 1 hour, and 2 to 3 sessions are held each week. Usually, a patient receives treatments for 4 to 6 weeks.
Q. Do I need a referral to come to outpatient physical therapy?
Most insurance companies require a referral from a physician. We suggest you call your individual insurance company to verify your coverage, benefits, and any applicable co-pay or deductibles. Your co-pay and deductible are your responsibility, but we will work with you to manage your care within your means.
Q. Are the therapists trained and licensed?
Our therapists are graduates of accredited therapy programs and are licensed by New York state. Many of our staff hold master's or doctoral degrees in therapy. Most therapists have many years of experience in orthopedic physical therapy. We have clinicians specializing and certified in manual techniques, orthopedics, treatment of the spine, and sport strength and conditioning. Our therapists actively pursue continuing education opportunities in a wide range of areas, including spinal disorders, shoulder and knee injuries, sports medicine injuries, and total joint replacements. We require all of our therapists to continue educating themselves every year to better serve our patients.
