Oswego Health welcomes Audiologist, Dr. Devlin Lighty to the Oswego practice. The new audiologist is providing hearing and balance services for clients of all ages using the newest technology available.
Dr. Lighty earned her Doctor of Audiology degree from Towson University in Maryland. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in communication sciences and disorders from Howard University in Washington, DC.
Dr. Lighty arrives at the Oswego practice after working several years in the Maryland and Washington, D.C. area. She is looking forward to meeting the hearing and balance needs of area residents. She stated, “I like working in a practice of this size. It allows me to really get to know my patients and meet their clinical needs.”
For clients with hearing issues, Dr. Lighty is conducting specialized hearing tests. Equipped with an AudioStarPro audiometer, TympStar middle ear system, and a sound proof booth, she can test clients comfortably while obtaining accurate test results. When testing infants and young children who cannot sit for a formal examination, she can use other objective tests including Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR), Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE).
For balance testing, Dr. Lighty has the ability to use state-of-the-art vestibular equipment. She can perform a Videonystagmography (VNG) test which involves recording a patient’s eye movements during a series of visual and physical tasks. This test, along with Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potential (VEMP) testing, can assist in the diagnosis of balance disorders.
Dr. Lighty’s office is located in suite 210 of the Oswego Health Services Center which is adjacent to Oswego Hospital. To make an appointment with Dr. Lighty, please call 326-3792.
