If you were to ask Nancy in 1995 when she first began her career at Oswego Health that one day she’d be working with her two daughters, she wouldn’t have believed you!

While attending college in Canton, Nancy had her clinical rotations at Oswego Hospital in the lab and was offered a full-time position right after graduation. She has spent her entire career in the lab here and can’t imagine being anywhere else. Today, Nancy is the Assistant Laboratory Administrative Director and helps oversee all lab processes, to include the Urgent Care POC lab stations and nine draw stations throughout the community.

Nancy and her family live in Baldwinsville and though it’s a short commute, she shares that the leadership team has been so accommodating to her family over the years, especially as her husband served in the military and has had several tours. Being a mom of three, I was fortunate to have a flexible work schedule that allowed me to still have a career and be there for my kids.

Her lab team is like a family and her two daughters grew up hearing the stories. Inspired to enter a career in healthcare by their mother, both Sami Blais, PA, and Gabi Blais have recently joined Oswego Health.

Through her clinical rotations, Sami experienced Oswego Health’s women’s health department and primary care locations. She knew she wanted to stay close to her family so it was an easy decision to join Oswego Family Physicians as a Physician’s Assistant.

Initially, Gabi went away to the University of Kentucky to study Exercise Science. Upon graduation, she returned home and interviewed for an office assistant position within Physician Care PC. The team knew she was overqualified and offered her a new role as Practice Coordinator, Hospital Based Programs. Though she’s only been here a few months, Gabi has excelled at coordinating schedules for anesthesia and hospitalist teams. She’s enjoyed her experience so far and it’s influenced her decision to go back to earn her MBA in healthcare administration.

Having opportunities for growth and a positive work environment, plus being able to see one another throughout the work week, is just the best!
