Development and Community Relations
The Development and Community Relations Department of Oswego Health includes strategic planning, fund development, marketing and public relations.
Oswego Health recently adopted a new strategic plan that outlines the goals and the objectives for the hospital through 2013. Helping develop the plan were community members, physicians and Oswego Health staff members.
The department also serves as the fund raising arm of the organization. Community members interested in helping support the purchase of needed hospital equipment or renovation projects, have several options available to them. More information on Oswego Health’s fund development initiatives can be found on the Make A Donation webpage.
Among the numerous other roles the department provides is developing relationships in our community. Oswego Health provides health screenings and information at many local events including the Oswego Farmers Market and various health fairs held throughout the area. In addition, the department oversees the organization’s annual participation in Oswego Harborfest, as Oswego Health is the main sponsor for the Children’s Parade. During the parade, the Oswego Health Sun Patrol passes out sunscreen along the parade route. The Sun Patrol began nearly 20 years ago after emergency department staff members noticed that during this popular event many young children were being treated for severe sunburns.
