Emergency Room or Urgent Care? While emergency rooms are an integral part of any healthcare system, an urgent care center is where minor illnesses and injuries, can be most efficiently treated. Typically, the wait time is shorter and care is often less expensive. Oswego Health's new urgent care center is staffed with physicians and nurses. The center is equipped to treat a variety of illnesses and injuries. For more serious medical conditions, you should go to the nearest emergency room.

When to visit the Urgent Care Center:

  • - Cuts or wounds that may require stitches
  • - Sprains, strains or deep bruises
  • - Mild to moderate asthma attacks
  • - Ear infections
  • - Upper respiratory infections
  • - Coughs and congestion
  • - Diarrhea
  • - Sore throats
  • - Insect bites
  • - Rashes

When to visit the Emergency Room:

  • - Severe bleeding
  • - Difficulty breathing
  • - Chest pain or pressure
  • - Broken bones
  • - Trauma or injury to the head
  • - Sudden dizziness or difficulty breathing
  • - Severe abdominal pain
  • - Pregnancy related complications

            - Laboratory - Weekdays 7 am to 9 pm; Weekends and Holidays 9 am to 9 pm
