We have some very important and exciting news to share that will lead to improved healthcare facilities right here in your own community.
On August 17th, Oswego Hospital began construction on your new E.R. Once the renovation project for the emergency department is completed in late 2010, our family and friends will have access to a state-of-the-art facility that will provide the quality of care you have come to expect.
Importantly, during construction the emergency department will remain open, but those needing emergency department services must enter the hospital at a temporary West Sixth and Oneida Street entrance, where our new customer care representatives will personally assist our patients and their family members at the new entrance. Please be assured, we always want you to receive the best in healthcare, and this $18 million expansion will complement the significant advancements we have already made to other areas of our hospital. This project culminates more than five years of major renovations at Oswego Hospital that have essentially brought a new hospital to the community. Those new facilities, all with the latest technology include a surgery center, maternity center, and intensive care unit. We have also updated our third and fourth floor rooms with more patient comforts.
We are excited about the changes in the new Emergency Department, including the new state-of-the-art equipment that will provide greater patient comfort care; expanded waiting room areas; new private rooms with the latest in medical technology; as well as numerous upgrades to our first floor and other departments including imaging, the laboratory and medical records.
During our emergency department construction, those individuals with less serious injuries, should consider utilizing our convenient new Urgent Care Center located at 510 S. Fourth Street in Fulton. The center provides an experienced physician team and support staff, and state-of-the-art technology. The Urgent Care Center is open daily from 9 am to 9 pm and requires no appointment.
We apologize for any inconvenience you may incur as we expand. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns at (315) 349-5500 weekdays 8 am to 4:30 pm.
We look forward to this new beginning for the Oswego Hospital Emergency Department, the continued growth of Oswego Health, and all of the important and necessary changes that will benefit each of you throughout this community.
Sincerely,
